the real problem with obamacare

the real problem with Obamacare is that the government passed something that no one understood nor were able to score. now it is better understood and perhaps may be able to be scored but guess what? they imposed something on the people that the people only wanted if someone else was going to pay for. is that fair? fairness had nothing to do with it. it was all about the perception of the “electorate” that “the democrats had given healthcare to the masses”.

Obamacare is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Most people think it only affects health insurance, but it has changed the way America delivers health care overall. “Obamacare” first was coined by critics of the former president’s efforts to reform health care, but the name stuck.

The ACA’s primary goal was to slow the rising cost of health care by taking steps to make health insurance more available and more affordable to those who need it the most. The act also required everyone to carry health insurance or pay a tax penalty. that provision was subsequently affirmed by the Supreme Court as being a tax.

Before the ACA, insurance companies could exclude people with pre-existing conditions. As a result, the people with the greatest health expenses sometimes had to go without insurance or settle for a policy that did not cover a pre-existing condition. Because they couldn’t afford regular doctor visits, they often ended up in hospital emergency rooms and unable to contribute to the expense of their treatments.

not really sure how long ago this was written but it was several years. : )
